MAI-Z
Designed by Kitronik, Mai-Z is a programmable robot designed for use with the BBC micro:bit, ideal for kids aged 8–14.
Mai-Z features IR sensors for line-following and edge detection, an ultrasonic distance sensor for obstacle avoidance, motor encoders for precise movement, and four RGB ZIP LEDs.
The chassis includes a pen holder and scoop for creative tasks, plus access to the micro:bit’s A/B buttons. Mai-Z supports both MakeCode block-based programming and “screen-free” coding with a physical recorder board. It has a rechargeable Li-Po battery (USB-C) and onboard speaker.
